Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. Over 50k people vaccinated

About 51,800 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 since February 22.   Around 11,700 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Meanwhile, about 12,300 people made online reservations for their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine, taking the number of people who made reservations for the jab to about 256,000.   Additionally, bookings for the Comirnaty vaccine started today and about 91,200 people reserved their first and second doses online.   As of midnight, two women were sent to hospital for treatment.
