Xia Baolong begins HK visit

CPC Central Committee Hong Kong & Macao Work Office Director and State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office Director Xia Baolong today arrived in Hong Kong for a seven-day inspection visit.   Upon his arrival at Hong Kong International Airport this morning, Mr Xia toured the Integrated Airport Centre in the company of Chief Executive John Lee, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) Chairman Jack So.   Mr Xia was updated by Secretary for Transport & Logistics Lam Sai-hung and AAHK Chief Executive Officer Fred Lam, on the developments of the aviation industry and the latest situation of Hong Kong's development as an international aviation and cargo hub. 2m vaccine doses administered

About 2,010,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 1,193,600 people receiving their first dose and about 816,700 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 515,100 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 678,500 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 376,900 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 439,800 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 5,200 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 4,400 people received their second dose under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 7,800 people received their first dose at community vaccination centres (CVCs) and about 8,400 people received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at CVCs is about 96%, the same as for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 3,800 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 8,400 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, six people were sent to hospitals.
