More HZMB private car quotas set

The governments of Hong Kong and Macau have agreed to increase the regular quotas for Hong Kong cross-boundary non-commercial private cars using the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to Macau, the Transport Department announced today.   The decision was made to enhance traffic flow between Hong Kong and Macau, better utilising the bridge, the department said.   It will increase the Hong Kong quota by 1,000, following the earlier quota allocation of 1,800 for Hong Kong.   The additional quota will be distributed in two phases from the second quarter.   Half of the additional 1,000 quota allocations is for company applicants and the other half is for individual applicants. The quotas are valid for no more than three years. 3.22m vaccine jabs given

About 3,220,600 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 1,940,400 people receiving their first dose and around 1,280,200 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 844,400 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 1,096,000 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 526,600 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 753,500 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 7,900 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 4,600 people received their second dose under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 16,200 people received their first dose and about 9,300 people received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 96%, while it is 97% for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 5,400 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 16,800 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, nine people were sent to hospitals.
