Deputy CS to visit GZ, Macau

Deputy Chief Secretary Cheuk Wing-hing will leave Hong Kong on a two-day visit to Guangzhou and Macau this afternoon.   He will meet with Guangdong Provincial Government and Guangzhou Municipal Government leaders, besides attending the signing ceremony for an agreement on civil service staff exchange and collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.   This afternoon, Mr Cheuk will first of all meet with Guangdong Provincial Government leaders to discuss issues of mutual concern and strengthen exchange and co-operation on various fronts. He will then join Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung to attend the abovementioned signing ceremony.   In the evening, he will attend the opening ceremony of the third Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture & Arts Festival.   Along with Secretary for Labour & Welfare Chris Sun, Mr Cheuk will tomorrow morning attend a welcome ceremony for young people employed under the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme, before meetin

3.51m COVID-19 jabs given

About 3,511,100 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 2,122,600 people receiving their first dose and around 1,388,500 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 923,300 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 1,199,300 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 565,900 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 822,600 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 10,700 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,500 people received their second dose under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 19,600 people received their first dose and about 18,700 people received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97%, while it is 98% for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 6,100 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 24,000 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, 17 people were sent to hospitals.
