Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. 3.9m vaccine doses administered

About 3,908,600 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 2,343,500 people receiving their first dose and around 1,565,100 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 999,700 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 1,343,900 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 639,100 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 926,000 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 9,100 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 12,700 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 18,000 people received their first dose and about 21,800 people received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 98%, the same for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 6,400 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 27,100 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, nine people were sent to hospitals.
