Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. May goods exports up 17.7%

The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports increased 17.7% year-on-year in May, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.   The volume of goods imports rose 20.1% compared to the same period last year.   Goods exports prices increased 5.3% year-on-year for the month, while prices of goods imports increased 4.7%.   On a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of goods exports decreased 3.9% in the three-month period ending May compared with the preceding three months, while the volume of goods imports dropped 1%.
