A meeting on the anti-epidemic work of the Mainland and Hong Kong was held today in Shenzhen.   It was hosted by Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Deputy Director Huang Liuquan.   Chief Secretary John Lee led Hong Kong Special Administrative Region representatives to attend the meeting and exchange strategies with Mainland representatives on preventing and fighting COVID-19 as well as study the resumption of quarantine-free travel between the Mainland and Hong Kong.   Mr Huang noted that the office organised the meeting as the central government attaches great importance to the request by Chief Executive Carrie Lam on the resumption of quarantine-free travel with the Mainland.   Mr Lee thanked the central government for its support and care towards the Hong Kong SAR's efforts in preventing and fighting the virus, and for offering vital assistance on many occasions.   He also expressed gratitude to the office for arranging the meeting within a short

Voucher re-registration set

The Government today announced it has put in place special arrangements for eligible citizens to re-register for the Consumption Voucher Scheme before August 31.   It made the arrangement in view of the fact that some registrations submitted during the registration period which ended yesterday could not be further processed because of reasons such as inaccurate information or failing to staple a Hong Kong identity card (HKID) copy to the paper registration form.   These registrants should resubmit their completed paper registration forms together with their HKID card copy in person or by a trusted person to the Consumption Voucher Scheme Secretariat at 17/F, Pioneer Centre, 750 Nathan Road, Mong Kok, during office hours on or before August 31. They should first confirm that the information to be handed in this time is correct and complete.   People who choose to upload their HKID card copy for authenticating their electronic registration should do so via the scheme’s website on or before August 16 to complete the registration procedure. Under the special arrangement, those who are unable to finish uploading their card before tomorrow may also resubmit their registration in paper form before the end of this month.   However, the arrangement is not applicable to people who are confirmed to be ineligible for the scheme or who have never submitted any registration before.   Each eligible registrant can only resubmit once during the period from August 16 to 31 using a paper registration form. Registrants with confirmed eligibility will get the first voucher valued at $2,000 on October 1. In general, they will receive an SMS notification of the registration result in mid-September.   People who have completed the electronic registration on or after July 18 and all paper form registrants will receive the first $2,000 voucher on September 1 after their eligibility is confirmed, the Government added.   Visit the thematic website or call 18 5000 for enquiries.
