Athlete seals another bronze

Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui hailed athlete Yam Kwok-fan for scoring a bronze medal in the Women's T36 200m event at the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the Eighth National Special Olympic Games today.   This is her second medal at the games after winning bronze in the Women's T36 100m event.   Sending his congratulations to the athlete and the team, Mr Tsui said: “Yam Kwok-fan pulled her efforts and displayed great tenacity in the competition. We are thrilled by her outstanding performance.”

8.31m vaccine doses administered

About 8,316,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,387,300 people receiving their first dose and around 3,928,700 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,593,200 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,794,100 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,437,500 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,491,200 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 37,500 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 3,800 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 8,200 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 7,300 people received their first dose and around 18,100 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 95% while it is about 90% for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 900 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 4,000 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, five people were sent to hospitals.
