More rooms for helpers' quarantine

Starting November 1, the Rambler Garden Hotel in Tsing Yi will provide 500 rooms for the quarantine of foreign domestic helpers coming to work in Hong Kong, the Labour Department announced today.   This is a new designated quarantine facility in addition to the Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre on Lantau Island and the Silka Far East Hotel Hong Kong in Tsuen Wan.   Room reservations can be made through the Rambler Garden Hotel’s online booking system from 9.30am on October 25 at a fee of $650 per night per room which includes three meals and all charges.   The helper’s passport copy, valid employment visa and recognised vaccination record must be provided to the hotel at the time of booking for verifying the helper’s identity.   Helpers will also need to provide such documents when they check into the facility.   Enquiries can be made to the department’s hotline at 2717 1771 or via email.
