Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. 20 cases found in restricted areas

The Government today announced that 20 COVID-19 cases were found in the compulsory testing exercises for the restricted areas in Tuen Mun and Aberdeen.   It made restriction-testing declarations yesterday to cover Shun Hei House of Siu Hei Court in Tuen Mun and Hung Lai House of Hung Fuk Court in Aberdeen.   At Shun Hei House, 1,267 people underwent testing and no one tested positive for the virus.   Twenty positive COVID-19 cases were detected at Hung Lai House after 860 people were tested there.   The Centre for Health Protection will follow up on the cases.
